Monash Children’s Centre (Clayton) Co-operative Ltd has operated continuously since 1967, offering care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years. The centre operates in the interests of families, who are also members of the cooperative, to nurture and support the children and families in our care. The centre runs independently, but in partnership with Monash University, based on the Clayton campus.
The centre is subject to the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and is registered under the Department of Education and Training (DET) as a 109 place long day care centre. Since 1998 the centre has received funding from the state government for our recognised and approved 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs.
Throughout the centre’s history, Monash Children’s Centre has had a long standing and supportive relationship with Monash University. Monash considers that the provision of child care for children of its staff and students is a vital means of supporting a work/life and study balance and of promoting equity of access to education, thus the centre is additionally supported by a service license agreement between Monash University and Monash Children’s Centre.
Monash Children’s Centre is committed to child safety. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety, participation and empowerment of all children. The welfare of the children in our care will always be our first priority. We have zero tolerance for child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures.
