Fee Structure

The daily fees for 2024 are:

  • $163 per child per day for Monash University Students and Staff
  • $169 per child per day for Community Users

A full structure of additional fees and levies can be obtained upon request from the coordinators.

The Board of Directors sets the centre fees each year based on a break-even budget and these are outlined in the Fee Schedule distributed at the beginning of each year to all current families.

Full fees are payable on public holidays, sick days and annual leave. Fees will not be charged over the December – January centre closure and the Centre’s Professional Development Day. Four weeks notice in writing is required for cancelling any booked days.  More information on bookings and cancellation can be found in the Parent Administration Policy.

Fee Support

As Monash Children's Centre is considered an approved service, out of pocket expenses for Child Care and Kindergarten can be reduced for families who are deemed eligible for Child Care Subsidy (CCS) or Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS.)  Families can ascertain eligibility for CCS on the CCS Webpage on Services Australia's website or contact them via phone on 13 61 50, Monday to Friday, between 8am and 8pm.

Families who are eligible for CCS will have their subsidy payments made directly to the centre and will be required to pay the gap fee as part of their agreement for obtaining CCS.  To ascertain what your gap fees might be please use Centrelink's Payment and Services Finder Tool.  For the purposes of utilising this tool to obtain an estimate please note that our Care Type is: Centre Based Day Care, our hourly rate for 2023 is $14.14 and our session length is 10:30.

Monday University staff can opt to use either Salary Packaging or CCS for their fees.  If staff intend to use Salary Packaging, a Monash University HR request form will need to be completed.  It is important to note that both options can not be used simultaneously, for the same days.  The centre coordinators can discuss options with your during orientation.

"Free Kindergarten" Offset from Victorian Government

Monash Children's Centre offer recognised, approved and funded 3 and 4 year old Kindergarten programs, which are embedded into the long day care program.  All children who are enrolled in one of our funded Kindergarten programs are eligible for the annual Victorian Governments "Free Kindergarten Offset" payment, which for 2024 is $2,050.  This payment is deducted weekly at a rate of $50 per week commencing from 5th February and runs for 41 weeks.  Families can view the offset payments on their invoices/statements, which are labelled as "Victorian Government Free Kinder offset."
